Crucible 3 — The Hammer Falls
Six teams: champions and runners-up qualified, and the remaining 4 places decided at The Proving.
Teams of exactly 5 grapplers.
Combined team weight must not exceed 430 kg, checked at weigh-in.
Blue belt & under: white and blue belts only (equivalent no-gi experience applies).
Team ties are decided across the five matches; the format and scoring for the night are published to captains before the draw.
One registered substitute is allowed per team, provided the team still makes the combined weight limit.
Two 4-man tournaments: Lightweight (70 kg) and Middleweight.
Single elimination in each bracket: two semi-finals and a final on the night.
The lightweight limit is 70 kg at weigh-in; the middleweight limit is confirmed to entrants before the event.
Each winner takes the respective Crucible title and defends it at future Crucible events.
Superfights are made within weight groups and matched on experience — register interest with your weight and time training and we will look for the right opponent.
Match length and ruleset are confirmed per bout when the card is published.
Every competitor signs a waiver and confirms they are fit to compete.
Under-18s require guardian consent.
Weigh-ins are checked before competition; details go to entrants by email.
Registering interest is not a confirmed entry — the organiser confirms every match and team place directly.
The League
What counts
Only official Proving Grounds and Crucible matches feed the public rankings. The Crucible carries heavier weight.
Weight + experience
Superfights and open matches are made inside weight groups and matched on experience, so every bout is a fair test.
Who can enter
Open by experience class. Under-18s require guardian consent. All competitors sign a waiver and confirm they are fit to compete.
How they're earned
Rankings guide matchmaking — champion vs #1, four-man tournaments, #1 vs #2 eliminators, team finals. Champions hold their belt until beaten at The Crucible.
